BEST OF 2011– WEDDING OF THE YEAR!!!!
On June 28th, Nisa catered the wedding of one of the stars of “Ugly Betty”. The wedding and reception were held at co-star Vanessa Williams’ home in Westchester with many stars in attendance including co-star Judith Light, actresses Blake Lively and Rebecca Romjin to name a few. Nisa provided all of the culinary delights, as well as the design and creation of décor for the big day. Nisa tailored the cuisine to match the couple’s request for “local and fresh summertime country wedding fare spiced with exotic touches” said Nisa.
The menu included a Chorizo Sausage softened with garden basil with lavender honey drizzle which was served with a salad of local garden greens, jicama with Champagne, mango and lime dressing, followed by a traditional favorite, corn on the cob given a spicy twist with cilantro lime butter washed down with some Shiner Bock, the groom’s favorite Texas beer. As a further tribute to the couples Latin and Texas “South of the Border” backgrounds, handmade Mexican fruit popsicles were served to help cool guests down from the heat. “I think it was a really beautiful, passionate wedding in a comfortable relaxed setting” said Nisa, People Magazine Article – June 2011
True happiness lies in the eye of the beholder. With over 10 years of being together, Matt Rosenstein and Nick Kurczewski made it official with their marriage on December 8th at Gary’s Loft,www.garysloft.com.
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Matt and Nick lost everything in their apartment in lower Manhattan’s South Street Seaport forcing them to relocate.
Despite their challenges of starting new and relocating from a friends apartment to a hotel and then to a new apartment, they endured the obstacles of losing everything. Instead they focused on maintaining a sense of happiness and composure as they let go of what happened in hope for a happier journey together as a married couple less than two weeks after the storm. Over 120 guests join them to celebrate their union with signature drinks aptly named in their honor – Nick at Nite (prosecco and crème de cassis) and Midtown Matt (Finlandia grapefruit vodka and tonic). After a beautiful and heart warming ceremony, guests enjoyed signature vegetable spring rolls, grilled beef kebobs,
chicken sate with Agave peanuts sauce, sweet potato curry puffs, baby bella with red curry sauce, butterfly shrimp and roasted coconut. Vegetable pad thai was served in white frosted mini “take-out” style containers and placed hanging throughout the reception for everyone to enjoy.A station of festive Asian flavors, featuring favorites of Matt & Nick’s, included Asian salad with sunflower seeds and crunchy noodles, sauteed chicken with cashews and spinach, Japanese eggplant and French beans, Panang Winter Rooted Roasted Vegetables, and Saigon Beef and Asparagus.
